Since its inception in 2007 by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Hearing Day (WHD) has been observed annually on 3rd March to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss, and to promote ear and hearing care across the world.

To mark World Hearing Day 2022, the ENT Department of St. Elizabeth Hospital organised a free eight-day screening and education campaign from 1st to 8th March 2022, themed “To Hear for Life, Listen with Care!”

The activities included ENT screening, audiological assessment, and public education on radio, at churches, at schools and within the hospital premises. Those with issues such as impacted wax, among other hearing problems, were seen, treated and booked for further treatment.
